Oct 19, 2021Students at St. Johnsbury Academy benefit from small classes, talented teachers, and a huge array of academic opportunities. The Academy offers over 220 courses including 31 Advanced Placement courses, more than 30 courses in the fine and performing arts, college-level engineering, five languages, and an award-winning technical education department.
Students are placed in classes with others of similar academic ability which allows them to master skills at a personalized pace. The academy also has many layers of academic support: students can benefit from the Learning Center, availability of their teachers during daily conference period, or they can participate in the Study Skills or Guided Study programs. The focus on the success of every student is an integral part of their mission and has become a hallmark of St. Johnsbury Academy.
The Academy also provides huge range of scholarships, in order to give all the international students receive an education in their academy. Approximately 1.5 million juniors have already participated in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Three types of National Merit Scholarships will be offered in the spring of 2022. Every Finalist will compete for one of 2,500 National Merit® $2,500 Scholarships. About 1,000 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards will be provided by approximately 220 corporations and business organizations for Finalists who meet their specified criteria, such as children of the grantor’s employees or residents of communities where sponsor plants or offices are located. In addition, about 180 colleges and universities are expected to finance some 4,100 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for Finalists who will attend the sponsor institution.
