Canada Post-Grad Work Permit

Jun 22, 2020

Based on COVID-19 situation, those international students who have been enrolled to post-graduate programs in Canada, are permitted to complete 50 % of the program online from their home countries if there are any travel restrictions. According to Canadian revised rules, this change won’t have any impacts on PGWP / Post- Graduation Work Permit Program/

This means, that the students will not have time deducted from the length of a future post-graduation work permit for studies completed outside of Canada until December 31, 2020. Depending on the length of their study program, students may be eligible for post-graduate work terms of up to three years. This experience can be a stepping stone to permanent residency in Canada, such as Express Entry program, which relies on a points-based system for evaluating applicants. Additional points are awarded for those who have completed post-secondary studies in Canada, and those with Canadian work experience can accumulate further points as well.
